Book Club!

Starting last month and going into this month, we have been having a book club!  Although the book Wonder finally came in today, we have had great discussions and got to go watch the movie last night as a group!  Wonder is a wonderful book, and I highly encourage everyone to read it!  It will make you think about how you treat others.Wonder

World AIDS Day Red Ribbon

World AIDS dayThroughout the week and from 12-2:00 p.m. in the MPSC, I had red ribbons with me that anyone could donate $1.00 to get one.  The money raised is going to the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin, an organization dedicated to helping those dealing with AIDS and trying to find a cure.  There are still some left, so if you would like one, just let me know!

Movie Night

On Thursday night, Dr. Pip, an English professor here at UW-Platteville, joined us in the MPR to show the film “How to Survive a Plague”.  This film follows ACT UP during the 80’s and 90’s as they fight for their lives trying to find a cure for AIDS.  It is a wonderful film, and everyone there learned a lot!  Dr. Pip is very knowledgeable in this area of study and could answer pretty much any question!  Feel free to contact him if you have any questions about this film or AIDS.  There also is some popcorn left from the evening, so come to my suite and grab some while it’s still here!Pip
